Kerry Rosenboom, a Wichita native, is entering his 12th year as head strength and conditioning coordinator at Wichita State University.

Rosenboom joined the WSU staff in Sept. 1987, as the interim strength and conditioning coordinator and was elevated to his present position in Dec. 1987. The 1982 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School in Wichita was named the 1997 and 1998 Missouri Valley Conference Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year. He is in demand for lectures, seminars and strength training articles. He has been a guest speaker at the 1996 American Baseball Coaches Association annual meeting, the 1997 Baseball Bash and the Reebok Baseball Clinic. He also lectured at the Strength Coaches National Convention during the summer of 1993, and has had articles on weight training for pitchers and baseball players published in Collegiate Baseball and Strength Coaches journal. Rosenboom was also a guest lecturer at the Syd Thrift Baseball Institute in the summer of 1989.

Rosenboom trains approximately 60 professional baseball players through his weight- training consulting business, including former Witchita State players Pat Meares, Darren Dreifort and Braden Looper.

He earned bachelor of science degrees in administration and fitness management at Kansas Newman while lettering four years in baseball. He was named to the all-District 10 honorable mention team as a relief pitcher in 1987 and finished his career ranked in the top 10 in numerous career and single-season record categories at Kansas Newman.

Rosenboom is also a member of The National Strength and Conditioning Association, a Certified Level I Weightlifting instructor and was recently named to the Advisory Board for Wynmor Fitness Equipment, one of the top lines of equipment in the country.
